5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely an upgrade
I love that all of the sections close and stay closed. It is almost TOO strong, but I’m sure it will eventually loosen up be easier to open up each compartment. Then eventually they will stop staying closed. The life of a pill organizer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable, great size, does job and economical!
I have owned about every type and style of pill box and reminder system that has been made. I’ve had the kind that has the slide down slots, the individual boxes, and everything in between. After about 12 years of being on more than 13 daily medications, I have been using this box for the last 3 or 4 years. The first box just now got to where the lids were not closing well, so I ordered another one to replace it, and a spare to have on hand. The good thing about it being inexpensive compared to the others is that I can afford to replace it as needed.
The box is about 5"x7", and 1" deep. Each compartment is about 1 inch wide, 1 inch high, and 1 inch deep. The four colors of lids come out separately, making it easy to fill. So, each color is one long piece that slides in a slot at the top of that row and has seven lids for the individual compartments. Having them removable makes it easy to fill the box on a weekly basis, or bi-weekly basis, depending on how many times a day you take your medication.
I’m on about 15 medications, It easily holds my biggest amount, which is the 13 pills I take in the morning (4 large potassium pills, 2 large capsules, and 7 smaller pills/capsules), with room for double that many.
I keep it in a drawer beside my bed and do not have to travel with it. When I do need to take medicine with me, I put a few doses in a small pill box that will fit in my purse. If I have to travel with this box. I wrap a piece of cardboard or file folder type material around it and fasten with a rubber band, just to be sure it won’t come open during travel in a suitcase or canvas bag, even though the lids won’t come open easily on it, if it gets dropped or hit on the side, they can come open, and it has happened that I ended up with a bag of pills, so I learned from it and would rather prevent it than take a chance again. It really isn’t made for travel unless you do secure it.
Also, after a year or so, depending on how many times you wash it, the markings will come off or become dim. What my daughter did was take her label machine (which she loves to use) and make little labels for the lids, or you can just use a permanent marker, or if you are like me, I know which is morning, noon, evening and night by their placement.
The other pill box that I would purchase again, that is similar to this in size, but won’t open if dropped, that is better for travel or if you have to move it around in your home, or have small children around that you need to have a childproof feature, is the "Ezy Dose Four-a-day Weekly Maxi-pharmadose Medication Organizer". I had one of those for about 8 years. It is about triple the price and the way it slides down makes it hard to skip a dose or take out an individual dose but otherwise a good box.

Unlike other pill minders, these lids stay closed! No spills, no mishaps. No muss, no fuss!

4.0 out of 5 stars Huge Pill Organizer
This is a pill organizer for those who are unfortunate enough to need medication four times a day. I’m on a number of medications for various health issues. There are some I need every six hours, some I need in the morning when I wake up, some I need in the early afternoon, and some I take at bedtime. I had two 7-day organizers, one for AM and one for PM pills, but it was getting frustrating to have the entire morning and afternoon’s allotment in one container. I had to sort through them and try to figure out which ones were for first thing in the morning and which ones were for later. So when I saw this, I jumped on it.
It’s a lot bigger than I was anticipating. It’s a good two inches longer than my 7-day organizers, even though it holds the same number of days (Sunday through Saturday). The individual pockets are both wide and deep, so they’ll hold a LOT of horse pills or vitamins. I didn’t need anything quite this huge, but I suppose it’s better than being too small. If you’re expecting to be able to slip this in your purse, think again! Unless you carry around a backpack, it’s not going to work. And the individual compartments are NOT removable, so you can’t take your afternoon pills with you if you go out for the day. You’ll need a separate travel container for that purpose.
That said, I do really like this. It’s divided according to the days of the week, and each row is a different time of day: Morning, Noon, Evening, and Night. They’re different colors, so you can tell them apart. I wish the lettering was a bit larger, so it would be easier to read the days of the week, but it’s not that big a deal. The lids for each weekly section come off—for easy cleaning, I guess, or perhaps to make it easier to fill the container at the end of the week.
The only thing I don’t like is how it’s so huge—it makes it awkward. It’s not very stable, either. After I’d filled the entire container for the first time, I went to snap the lids closed, and when I closed the one at the bottom corner, the entire container tilted. Which, naturally, tossed all my pills in the air! I’d only closed two of the other lids, so almost an entire week’s worth of medications went flying. They landed all over the counter, on the floor, in the sink. . . . I was very lucky none went down the drain! Now that I know it’s unstable, I can be sure and hold it down while I snap the lids shut. But it was rather terrifying to see all my medications go flying through the air!
I’ll give this organizer four stars, because it’s pretty decent, and because it’s so nice to not have to dig through each day’s pills, trying to find which ones to take. I just open the compartment according to what time of day it is, and take all the pills within. Easy-peasy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy this box!!!
I bought my first APEX box from Amazon in December 2023 and right out the box the lids on the bottom row (Bed) were impossibly difficult to open. I should have returned it but did not do so before the return period had expired. I tried using a pliers and screwdriver to open one of these lids and ended up needing to drive myself to urgent care to get 4 sutures put in my index finger.
Apparently I don’t learn my lesson and ordered a second one from Amazon 9 months later!
Obviously APEX doesn’t learn their lessons either. They’re STILL shipping the same dangerous boxes. The one I just received is just as bad as the first one!!
NOW I take the time to read the reviews and see that this is a frequent issue and has been for some time.
The second one is getting returned tomorrow for a refund.
Either APEX doesn’t read their reviews or has abysmal quality control.
So 9 months, 4 sutures, and one bum finger later I am finally doing the right thing and getting my money back for ONE of the TWO crappy boxes thar I purchased.
Hopefully people read this review and DO NOT purchase these defective pill boxes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for home use, some issues but not horrible overall
Great for setting up a weeks worth of supplements that need to be spread throughout the day. I have used this off and on for eight years, but steady use the last 3 years. It has been a good but not outstanding purchase.
Pros:
See through windows
Large portion holders – hold smore pills per opening then most.
I find the large overall size a ‘pro’ so I can find it easily. Smaller ones got misplaced easier.
Cons:
Gel tablets (fish oil, etc) stick to bottoms and sides
Covers pop open
Sometimes hard to reach in and get pills out. Slide back into compartment when trying to get them out.
I would not consider this ‘travel friendly’. If you do need to travel with it, wrap it up tightly or keep it upright at all times. I cannot fly due to multiple medical issues but we do drive where we need to go – thus I can pack it in a safe spot.
My fingers get swollen and stiff, so getting the pills out (especially gel ones stuck to the bottom) has been hard some days. I often turn the whole thing upside down get pills out of one opened slot but closed compartments would open up also and those pills would usually land on the floor. This random dump problem has gotten worse with time and after four years of constant use – its just time to replace it. I’ve had this 8 years, I had preferred a different set up until a few years back. I think its just worn out now.
There are probably better set ups out there but this one isn’t horrible. The large compartments are hard to find on a four per day set up.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best I’ve seen
I needed to replace my old med minder, because the individual lids for each dose would no longer stay shut. This led to many dropped pills. I have a lot of meds I must take 4 times a day. Filling this med minder weekly keeps me from missing doses—but it’s always been a pain. So when I needed still another box, researched my options thoroughly.
When I first began using one (in 1995!), my options were very limited. But now? Well, I spent many hours considering my options. I have found this one to be the best for my purposes. Best of all? I’m able to fill it in 2 to 30 minutes a week. It used to take me at least an hour. Why, you ask?
First of all, all the lids come off (this one for ease of filling. Previously, each little lid for each dose had to be held open to add each medication. Now I can hold several of a given medication for each dose, dropping one in each cavity for that time of day very quickly. Then repeat as often as necessary to complete all of my doses in the correct cavity. When done, all I need to do is replace the 4 strips of connected lids—and I m done! It’s that simple.
Other versions have all the doses for each day connected, , rather than just the lidsfor each dose’s time of day. This one works best for me, since I’m usually home; others may want the type connected by the day so they can remove one day’s doses at a time to go with them throughout their day.
The only critique I have is that the lowest level of lids don’t close quite as well as the others. To my knowledge, all versions of these have plastic lids that will loosen over time requiring replacement eventually. So I expect that the bedtime lids will need replacement sooner than the others. I really wish that I had returned this particular item for another like it which has all secure lids. Honestly, I didn’t realize how much difference there is and, and frankly, forgot until it was too late to return. That’s on me, not the seller. Otherwise, this item is perfect for my needs. I recommend any of this manufacturer’s similar products.
This is my opinion, based on 24* years of experience with various ways to keep track of my many medications. I was not paid to write this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pill Organizer
I started using these for my daddy years ago. He had many ailments and was on several different medications. He got them from the VA they were mailed to him in large envelopes. He kept them on a shelf in a kitchen cabinet. One day I walked in the kitchen and he had the cabinet door open just staring at his meds. I asked him what he was doing? He said trying to figure what I’m supposed to take next! I told my mom I need to get some pill organizers. I purchased two of them and kept them filled from that time on. Now I’ve purchased two for myself from Amazon and do the same thing for me.
